You may apply for the Australian 417 visa if you meet some basic requirements:
Valid Irish passport holder
Your age is within the set limits (18-35yo)
Adequate funds to support your stay (approx €3500)
Meet certain health & character requirements
Be outside Australia when you apply for the first visa

If you hold a passport from one of these countries you may be eligible to make an application for the subclass 417 Working Holiday Visa:

The work & holiday visa (when approved) will be valid for 12 months. If you wish to extend your stay ensure that you undertake 3 months of specified work, you must do this before you apply for the second WHV visa. Work may include, fruit picking, farming, mining, and some types of construction work. Plan to complete the initial 3 months work soon after you land in Australia, get this out of the way in case there are issues later on.
