The 2024-25 Australian Federal Budget has forecast increases in visa application charges from 01 July 2024.
One of the big hits will be the Work Holiday Visa. Government charges are due to increase to $650.00
Remember this price increase will apply to all first, second or third Work Holiday Visa.
To be eligible for the Australia Work Holiday Visa applicants should be aged between 18 and 30 at the time of their application. If you hold passport from Canada, France, Ireland, Denmark, UK and Italy the age range is 18-35yo.
Application charges for each visa under the WHM program (subclass 417 & 462) will be hiked up to $650. Not a huge increase however the Australian authorities said that such a fee increase is necessary to avoid exploitation. Fruit and vegetable growers have raised concerns, saying that overseas workers will no longer want to reach Australia.
These increases will apply to applications lodged on or after 01 July 2024. To avoid increased costs where possible it’s advisable to lodge visa applications prior to end of June 2023.
The Working Holiday visa of Australia is a temporary visa issued to young people from other countries who want to holiday as well as work in Australia for up to 12 months.
